listening to this audiobook was a wonderful experience, as if you were having a conversation with an intelligent friend. Maugham's lucid prose style made the memoir an excellent example of English essays. The only drawback is the relatively low sound quality(recorded on tapes in 1980), but it's a worthwhile listening after all.
