Dealing with storytelling, this is one of a series of practical guides for teachers which examine pedagogical areas at the centre of ELT debate. Teachers are provided with ideas designed to help them develop their own material and tailor it to their individual needs.
THE following collection of myths of the Thompson Indians has been in my hands for quite a number of years. Their publication has been delayed because it seemed desirable, on account of the large amount of mythological material brought together by the Jesup Expedition, to devote a whole volume and a complete discussion to this subject. Unfortunately this has not been possible; and it has been necessary to scatter the material in a number of publications, and much of it remains still unpublished. For this reason the present series is given without a detailed comparison, which would have to be repeated and expanded when the references to the unpublished material should become available.
During World War II, soldiers were hand-picked and dispersed throughout the world on spy missions that significantly affected the war's outcome. The most vital mission, however, was the one led by fighter pilot Richard Canidy. His job: Locate a secure source of uraninite, a valuable and rare material that is essential for an extremely powerful, top-secret weapon that could single-handedly turn the tide of the war.
