Essential Numerical Computer MethodsEssential Numerical Computer Methods

The various chapters within this volume include a wide variety of applications that extend far beyond this limited perception. As part of the Reliable Lab Solutions series, Essential Numerical Computer Methods brings together chapters from volumes 210, 240, 321, 383, 384, 454, and 467 of Methods in Enzymology. These chapters provide a general progression from basic numerical methods to more specific biochemical and biomedical applications.

Elementary Operators and Their ApplicationsElementary Operators and Their Applications

This volume contains solicited articles by speakers at the workshop  ranging from expository surveys to original research papers, each of  which carefully refereed. They all bear witness to the very rich  mathematics that is connected with the study of elementary operators,  may it be  multivariable spectral theory, the invariant subspace problem  or tensor  products of C*-algebras.

Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicines - Molecular Structures, Pharmacological Activities, Natural Sources and Applications: Vol. 1: Isolated CEncyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicines - Molecular Structures, Pharmacological Activities, Natural Sources and Applications: Vol. 1: Isolated C

This set of six volumes provides a systematic and standardized description of 23,033 chemical components isolated from 6,926 medicinal plants, collected from 5,535 books/articles published in Chinese and international journals. A chemical structure with stereo-chemistry bonds is provided for each chemical component, in addition to conventional information, such as Chinese and English names, physical and chemical properties. It includes a name list of medicinal plants from which the chemical component was isolated.

Algebraic Number Theory, Second Edition (Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications)Algebraic Number Theory, Second Edition (Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications)

Bringing the material up to date to reflect modern applications, Algebraic Number Theory, Second Edition has been completely rewritten and reorganized to incorporate a new style, methodology, and presentation. This edition focuses on integral domains, ideals, and unique factorization in the first chapter; field extensions in the second chapter; and class groups in the third chapter. Applications are now collected in chapter four and at the end of chapter five, where primality testing is highlighted as an application of the Kronecker–Weber theorem. In chapter five, the sections on ideal decomposition in number fields have been more evenly distributed.
