Company Law Q&A 2003-2004

Company Law Q&A 2003-2004Many students study company law as part of a degree or professional education or training. Unfortunately, company law is not an easy subject to study or understand and students need all the help they can get. Q A Company Law provides valuable guidance on answering the types of questions which can be found in degree and professional examinations. One difficulty with company law is that it involves a complicated web of relationships between the company, its shareholders, its directors and third parties. Students often find it hard to see the 'big picture' while grappling with the technical complexities of the law. While designed primarily as a revision aid, this book also provides considerable assistance during the study of the subject by helping students to draw together themes and ideas from all aspects of their company law course.

Tort Law (Essentials Series)This work is intended as a study/revision aid for students, rather than as a substitute for more detailed treatises. It analyzes the law of tort in terms of the issues that are likely to be of interest to examiners and explains these areas in an accessible manner, as well as summarizing existing academic opinion. The emphasis throughout is on facilitating students' understanding of a topic. The new edition takes into account recent developments in the law of tort. These include the increasing use of the law of negligence in sport; further developments when suing public bodies for breach of a duty of care; the increasing influence of the European Court of Human Rights on the development of the law of tort; changes in the method of calculating personal injuries damages; the liability of Internet service providers in the law of defamation and use of the qualified privilege defence in libel.

The IMO Compendium: A Collection of Problems Suggested for The International Mathematical Olympiads: 1959-2004The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) has within its almost 50-year-old history become the most popular and prestigious competition for high-school students interested in mathematics. Only six students from each participating country are given the honor of participating in this competition every year. The IMO represents not only a great opportunity to tackle interesting and challenging mathematics problems, it also offers a way for high school students to measure up with students from the rest of the world.

The IMO has sparked off a burst of creativity among enthusiasts in creating new and interesting mathematics problems. In an extremely stiff competition, only six problems are chosen each year to appear on the IMO. The total number of problems proposed for the IMOs up to this point is staggering and, as a whole, this collection of problems represents a valuable resource for all high school students preparing for the IMO.
