The content of Algebra 2 (Texas Edition) is organized around families of functions, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, radical, and rational functions. As students study each family of functions, they will learn to represent them in multiple ways – as verbal descriptions, equations, tables, and graphs. They will also learn to model real-world situations using functions in order to solve problems arising from those situations.
Algebra 2 (Texas Edition) provides thorough coverage of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Algebra 2. TEKS references appear at the beginning of each lesson and activity, and a full-page “Mixed Review for TEKS” appears twice each chapter. In addition, Algebra 2 helps students prepare for the Grade 11 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Each lesson includes exercises called “TAKS Reasoning” and “TAKS Practice,” and each chapter concludes with four pages of “TAKS Preparation” and “TAKS Practice.” |
